NAS Manager

The NAS Manager lets you access shared storage from your web browser.

You can use it to browse files, upload downloads or media, download files to your device, and manage files in folders you have access to.

Open NAS Manager

Open the NAS Manager here:

Open NAS Manager

Sign in with the username and password provided by an admin or signup using the webpage underneath the login button.

What You Can Do

Task What it does
Browse files Open folders and view the files shared with you.
Upload files Add files from your phone, tablet, or computer.
Download files Save a file from the NAS to your device.
Create folders Organize your own uploads into folders.
Rename or move files Keep files organized in folders you can edit.
Delete files Remove files you no longer need from folders you manage.

Getting Started

  1. Sign in with your TwilightTV NAS account.
  2. Select a shared folder or your personal folder.
  3. Choose what you want to do: browse, upload, download, or organize files.

Uploading Files

  1. Open the folder where you want the file to go.
  2. Select Upload or the upward facing arrow in the top right.
  3. Choose the files or folder from your device.
  4. Wait for the upload to finish before closing the page.

Large uploads may take a while, especially over mobile data or slower Wi-Fi. Keep the browser open until the upload is complete. DO NOT LEAVE THE SITE, IT WILL NOT UPLOAD IF YOU DO

Downloading Files

  1. Open the folder containing the file.
  2. Select the file you want.
  3. Choose Download.
  4. Find the downloaded file in your device's Downloads folder.

Creating and Managing Folders

To make a new folder:

  1. Open a location where you have permission to add files.
  2. Select New Folder.
  3. Enter a clear name for the folder.
  4. Select Create.

You may be able to rename, move, or delete files and folders that you uploaded yourself. If an option is missing or disabled, you likely do not have permission to change that item.

Sharing Files

By default, we all have out own folders. There may be shared drives added in the future.

When they are, here's what you can expect:

  • Files placed in a shared folder may be visible to other people with access.
  • Do not upload private or sensitive information to a shared folder unless you know who can view it.
  • Ask an admin before moving or deleting files that you did not upload.
  • Do not rename major shared folders unless an admin asks you to.

Media Uploads

If you are uploading media for the server:

  • Put movies, TV episodes, music, and other media in the folder specified by an admin. Don't worry about if they can see it, they have access to the entire drive.
  • Use clear filenames whenever possible. For example, Deadpool (2018).mkv *or* Danny Phantom S02E13.mkv
  • Do not upload duplicate copies if the item is already in Jellyfin.
  • Uploading a file does not always mean it will appear in Jellyfin immediately; the library may need time to scan for it. Usually this can take anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour, depending on how much was added.

If you want a movie or show added, it is usually easier to use Seerr instead of uploading it yourself.

Common Problems

I cannot sign in

Double-check your username and password. If you still cannot sign in, ask an admin for account help or a password reset.

I cannot see a folder

You may not have access to that folder. Ask an admin which folder you should use.

I cannot upload, rename, move, or delete a file

You may have view-only access, the folder may be full, or the file may belong to another user. Ask an admin for help.

My upload stopped or failed

Try again using a stable Wi-Fi connection. For large files, keep the browser open and avoid putting the device to sleep while the upload is running. If it keeps failing, let an Admin know.

I uploaded media, but it is not in Jellyfin

Wait a little while for the media library to scan. If it still does not appear, contact an admin with the file name and upload location, and they will move it to the correct location.

Need Help?

Ask an admin in The Twilight Zone Discord.

When asking for help, include:

  • What you were trying to do
  • The folder or file name involved
  • The size of the file or folder being uploaded
  • The device and browser you are using
  • Any error message you received
  • A screenshot, if possible

Server administrators: see NAS Manager Administration for account permissions, folder mappings, storage maintenance, backups, and troubleshooting.
